Don't want to look at fence posts - try this!

Many times when we build a cedar fence that is a common or shared fence between neighbors, the homeowner with the fence posts on their side says, "Victor, I don't want the fence posts on my side! What can you do about it?"

Well, the fence posts have to go on someone's side and if the fence posts were originally on your side, then it is going to be hard to convince the neighbor that he or she should now have the new fence posts.

There is a solution! Box the fence posts in! This way you do not see the metal fence posts but instead see the cedar fence pickets with an architectural column or feature. Check out the pictures of some examples.

Hope that gives you some ideas!

Now the fence posts are an architectural feature!

The two columns hide the fence posts.

Where did the fence posts go?
