Fence Construction

Our fences will add value and beauty to your property while providing privacy for entertaining, safety around pool areas and secure places for children and pets to play. We will build your fence to your specifications and requirements including custom gates and other features. We provide all our customers with FREE pre-construction meeting and consultation to review the many fence options available to build a fence that best meets their needs. We warrant our wooden fences from any defect in workmanship and materials for a period of one year. If a problem arises, we will be there quickly to repair or replace it at no charge.

We recommend using western red cedar for pickets although treated wood and other wood types are also available. No matter what would type you select, you can rest assured that it will be a quality material for its type. For western red cedar fences we use #2 quality or better.

6 or 8 feet are the most common and typically allowed by most cities and HOA’s. You should check with your HOA for specific guidelines. Shorter fences can also be built which are generally used for hiding electrical boxes, pool equipment or to separate a yard for dogs.

Our standard cedar fence includes:

  • Heavy gauge galvanized 2-3/8" steel posts, with rust resistant metal fittings set at least 30 inches deep in concrete

  • Posts are concreted in and for 6 foot fences are on 8 foot centers and for 8 foot fences are on 6 foot centers

  • Quality cedar wood pickets are available in 6 foot, 8 foot flat top and dog ear style

  • 6 inch wide pickets set on side-by-side style

  • 2x4 pressure treated rails, 3 for 6', 4 for 8'

  • Galvanized brackets, post caps and hardware

  • One gate with 3 hinge hardware

  • 2x6 pressure treated bottom board to protect and extend the life of fence

Our fence options and upgrades include:

  • 1x4 trim along the top of the fence to provide a finished top

  • 2x6 top cap to add a further finished look to the top of the fence

  • 2x6 pressure treated bottom board or “kick board” to protect the pickets from weed whackers and extend the life of the fence

  • Board on board style fence pickets for privacy

  • Staining of all wood

  • Decorative trim and accent pieces

  • Corbels

  • Other design features and trim as requested

We highly recommend that all wood used for wood fence installations or other backyard structures receive a stain finish. Not only does it look really nice, it protects the wood and helps your projects last much, much longer.
